I want to share with you 3️⃣ lessons my son with autism has taught me that have made me a better leader:

1️⃣ Clear and straightforward communication is crucial for understanding and cooperation.

2️⃣ Structured support systems facilitate learning and growth.

3️⃣ Acknowledging small victories fosters a culture of appreciation and encourages ongoing effort.

1️⃣ Clear Communication

•To enhance clear communication, you can focus on simplifying and clarifying your messages. You can commit to regular and transparent updates, ensuring that your expectations are easily understood (and that you understand others). This practice builds trust and aligns with biblical principles of honesty and transparency, as reflected in Ephesians 4:15: “Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.”

2️⃣ Structured Support

•To provide structured support, you can establish regular check-ins and feedback sessions to offer guidance and support or accountability. This practice is supported by 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

3️⃣ Celebrate Small Wins

•To celebrate small wins, you can intentionally pause to recognize and appreciate progress. You can set aside time each week to reflect on and acknowledge specific achievements, encouraging a balanced perspective on success. This practice helps overcome the relentless drive of workaholism and overachievement, echoing the wisdom of Ecclesiastes 3:13: “And also that every man should eat and drink and see and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God.”
